Loyd Lovell

Loyd Lovell, Shinan, began his martial arts training in the art of Kenpo Karate in 1974. He has studied Wu Shu and Tai Chi Chuan. He earned his black belt in Karate in 1978 and earned a black belt in Koi Ryu Aikijutsu in 1981. He started teaching in 1982 and has certificates in Tae Kwon Do, and Hapkido. He has sat on promotion boards for various martial arts since 1989. In 1989 he combined the arts of Kenpo, Kenjutsu and Jujutsu to form the art of Yama Kei Jujutsu. Mr. Lovell holds teaching level rank from Mr. Bernie Lau. With extensive knowledge of weapons and firearms as well as being a combat veteran of Vietnam, Mr. Lovell brings a real world experience to the training hall. He has taught police as well and has had the honor of having several special forces students over the years. Mr. Lovell is currently retired.
